Just returned back from two days of ice climbing in northern NH, wearing my oldest pair of shop pants. These pants have been worn weekly for the last 7+ years. When climbing, you often need to high step to kick into the ice. The shop pant provides all of the needed stretch, you're not at all limited as to your foot placements. While climbing on ice with melting water on the surface, the shop pants shed the small amounts of water, while the heavier water dries off quickly. These pants are durable enough, they even took several glancing blows from crampons and didn't even nick the pants. These pants far out perform the pants designed by the big name outdoor companies due to their comfort, durability, and flexibility.
