The first thing you notice about the 1620 Full Zip Hoodie is how incredibly well it's made. I'm a farmer, logger, carpenter, maple syrup maker and general outdoors person and I've owned work hoodies from other "work wear" companies. In terms of construction and materials, the 1620 hoodie is superior. Heavy weight cotton, double stitching, attention to detail, high tolerances in the precision of construction - it's all there on display and fully evident. But where it really stands out is in the design. The fit is modern and comfortable but feels like it's built for real work. The hood design is generous and fits easily over ear muffs, winter hats, headlamp, googles and anything else you might attach to your head. It's mid winter in Vermont right now and I've been wearing mine under my insulated coveralls while I plow snow and cut firewood. It's terrific.
My only issue with the hoodie was that the cordura reinforcement on the lower arm and pockets takes some breaking in. It was stiff and unbending for the week of wear but since has broken in nicely. I also found the pocket for your phone inside the larger pocket was a little awkward to access, especially with a glove on. I have an iPhone 12 so a larger phone would be even more challenging to navigate into the pocket. I doubt I will use it much.
As far as fit goes, I ordered a medium which fit my 6' 0", 180 lbs frame very well.
This is the most expensive hoodie I've ever owned but the lifetime warranty, quality of construction and the fact that it's made in the USA sold me on. I have not been disappointed.
