Just returned back from two days of ice climbing in northern NH, putting the softshell work jacket through the paces. This jacket way out-performed the more well-known climbing brands in terms of function and comfort. The temps ranged from the mid-20's to the high 40's over the two days and the jacket was perfect. When the wind would kick-up, the large hood fit perfectly over the climbing helmet, blocking the wind and providing a quick warm-up. However, when the sun came out, the jacket was breathable that you did not overheat at all while swinging ice axes. The jacket further blocked all the water coming off the ice, keeping me completely dry the whole time. No matter what kind of swings or moves needed to be made, the jacket had the perfect reach in all directions.
