German workwear brand Strauss and USA-based 1620 Workwear have announced a collaboration on new work pants that blend the best of European design and American materials. What should you expect from Strauss x 1620 Technical Work Pants? I’ll break down what sets them apart and share some thoughts on the design.
Work pant design is one of the things Europe does very well. In fact, they stayed ahead of American design for a long time. Part of that is almost certainly due to Europe’s deep appreciation for high-quality apprenticeships that lead to true masters in the trades.
The other side is 1620 Workwear. Their Made in the USA workwear is known for its high quality and innovative materials. In particular, NYCO fabric blends cotton and synthetic materials that get the best of both worlds and maintain high durability.
With Strauss’ design and 1620’s Stretch NYCO twill at the heart of these work pants, I’m already thinking, “Take my money!” But you might like some more details, so let’s dig deeper.
There are two pant types. They’re essentially the same, but the Multipocket version doesn’t have kneepad pockets and the Worker version does. Check out the rest of the details below.
If your everyday work pants are a basic pair of jeans and you like it like that, these probably aren’t for you.
